The radio was already airing news about the tsunami, but it did not hit home; I was not too worried at first when the water came flowing in, but the water level rose very rapidly. None of us can stop a tsunami, so the best we can do is to devise ways of absorbing its impact. To remember the experience and hand it down to future generations, I think that we should make plaques to mark the level the tsunami reached.
