My volunteering started when I set out to repair my friend's house in Kesennuma. This gradually expanded into recruiting debris-removal volunteers via my blog. Activities initially comprised debris and sludge removal from houses, but later turned to cleaning side ditches in local areas and other tasks in order to create better environments for residents. What I thought was needed at the start has grown, and I think that it has encouraged a large number of people to take part in volunteer activities.
