I was at home when the earthquake struck. I could not move and I had no idea what was going on. All I could do was hold onto pieces of furniture to prevent them from toppling over. Four months on, the problems were such that I still cannot comprehend what is going on. Everybody remains tense, anxious to preserve the lessons learned, but we have to pace ourselves for long-term reconstruction; we would like to carry on without wearing ourselves out.
