Mr. Watanabe’s house in Shichigahama
Before the tsunami, there were many houses and stores along the Miyagi Prefectural Route 58 running parallel to the coastline at Shobutahama, Shichigahama.
Mr. Watanabe’s house and his factory were located in a section of those buildings; they were seriously damaged by the tsunami.
We interviewed Mr. Watanabe about how, after the tsunami, he grew vegetables on the land where only foundations had remained and how he also made a hut there.
