[Mountain and Work] White Charcoal in Shichikashuku
Taking Charcoal Out of the Kiln and Putting Wood into the Kiln
[part3] This is a record of the work of Mitsuo Sato who makes white charcoal in Shichikashuku, a town that is rich in nature and located in the southern part of Miyagi prefecture. Here Mitsuo Sato builds his future life with his children following the earthquake in 2011.
He covers the charcoal taken out of the kiln with ashes to block the air and stop carbonization.
In this way, the charcoal becomes “white charcoal” because it is covered by white ash.
