I tried to get home the day after the earthquake but couldn't because smoke was rising from the petrochemical complex at Sendai new Port. 10 days after the quake, I finally managed to get inside my house, but it was in a horrific state that almost up to the ceiling of the first floor was inundated with the tsunami. There was nothing left of the familiar landscape, which brought me tears.
