I was not able to contact my family for three days after the earthquake. My parents' house in the coastal area of Aomori Prefecture was not swept away by the tsunami but it was inundated almost up to the second floor. The terror I felt at the time has somewhat waned and unconsciously has faded away from my mind in the three months since. I think that it is important to talk and tell each other about our experiences.
