Kitagama Community Center, Natori, Miyagi
A record of volunteers cleaning photographs damaged by the tsunami, in Kitagama Community Center.
Photographs and albums are rescued from the debris by the Self-Defense Forces, cleaned of mud and seawater by local residents and volunteers, then tacked to the community center's wall - so that they can some day be reunited with their owners. The community center is referred to as "Kitagama memory repository."
