[School and the Earthquake Disaster] Okada Elementary School, Sendai Part 2
The 137-year old Okada Elementary School is a very important symbol of the local community. I believe that regaining normalcy as quickly as possible is important for the mental healthcare of the children. Resuming classes as usual will bring back the rhythm of daily life. I think that will lead to the next step.
*Oraho no Gakko (Oraho School): "Oraho" means "our" in Miyagi dialect.
Schools and the Earthquake Disaster:
a series of interviews with teachers at seven elementary schools located in coastal Sendai. They talk about the evacuation process of school children and local people, shelter management, and how the evacuees got on until classes were restarted borrowing classrooms at other schools.
